A new study suggests the drug Viagra could have a big impact on a woman's sexual health.
Viagra is a widely used drug to treat erectile dysfunction, but researchers are just beginning to learn more about how it works.
They found that men who took the drug for an extended period of time were more likely to have erectile dysfunction than men who did not take the drug.
In a study of more than 2,000 women, only 18 per cent of men in the study experienced at least some of their sexual activity within four hours.
Viagra, which has been used by millions of men, is marketed by Pfizer Inc., which makes the drug. It was initially approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1998.
But the researchers found the drug could have a big impact on women's sexual health and a number of other health conditions.
"Viagra has been shown to be effective in men with erectile dysfunction and its side effect profile may include decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, orgasm, and reduced sexual desire," said lead author Dr. Amy Shulkin, an associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh who has studied Viagra.
"This is the first of many large trials that will confirm the efficacy of Viagra in women and we are excited about the potential benefits of this drug," Shulkin said.
But a new study on the drug in women has found it could have a big impact on a woman's sexual health.
The drug works by increasing the level of blood flow to the clitoris, which makes it easier to have orgasm.
Researchers are just beginning to learn about how this happens and how to treat it with medication. But the drug is not without side effects. Some men may develop unwanted side effects such as nausea and dizziness, headaches and fainting.
"It may help to improve sexual function in women," Shulkin said.
The study was published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
In the study, the researchers used data from the British Medical Journal, a journal of sexuality, to find out whether the drug could have a big impact on women's sexual health.
Viagra is the first drug approved by the FDA for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
It was originally known as Viagra in 1998.
However, the drug was not effective until 2006 when it was removed from the market. But it was still marketed and sold in some countries for a long time.
Researchers said they have already found a link between Viagra and sexual dysfunction.
"Viagra has a huge effect on women's sexual function and a number of other health conditions," Shulkin said.
"In the new study, we found that Viagra was more likely to increase women's sexual desire than was the placebo."
Viagra has been shown to be effective in men with erectile dysfunction and it was removed from the market in 2015.
"We need to have more studies to understand whether the effect of Viagra on women's sexual function is real and how to treat it with medication," Shulkin said.
The drug was also pulled from the market in 2021 when it was found to have a negative effect on women's health.
In the study, researchers recruited 1,350 women who had undergone a hysterectomy at the University of Pennsylvania.
The women were assigned randomly to take one of four treatments, including Viagra, or placebo, for an extended period.
Viagra was administered to the women in the treatment group for two weeks, but the researchers said the drug was effective in men.
"We found that the drug was more effective than placebo in treating men with erectile dysfunction," Shulkin said.
Viagra was also taken as a tablet or liquid form to help with swallowing.
"It was found that the tablet form of Viagra had the greatest effect on women's sexual desire," Shulkin said.
The study was published in the journalJournal of Sexual Medicine.
The study was funded by Pfizer Inc.

It is approved by the FDA for treating erectile dysfunction in men and is also approved for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension in women. It is also approved for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men, too.
